Easter Chick

Jet is usually tired coming home from work but since it was a long weekend, I asked him to do arts and crafts with Tonicci. Chicks symbolize new life and beginnings for Easter so it was just fitting for them to make one :)

Easter

Puck's Farm is one of the places that offer egg hunting for kids and since Tonicci loves going to Farms, we decided to go and invite our family friends as well (Bones&Betchang with their daughter Dawn and Vanessa).

The weather was just perfect but what we didn't anticipate was the HUGE turnout. It was jam packed! First on our agenda was the Easter Egg hunt. We were all looking forward to it but sadly, it was completely disorganized. There was an Easter Bunny who was supposed to scatter the eggs and hide it in the hay, but I guess some parents and children didn't have enough patience to wait and so it went on to become a  competitive 'free for all' (especially among the parents!). The Bunny had to resort to handing out eggs to the kids. So much for the egg hunting :( Oh well, it was a good thing that there were other things to do like some carnival rides, a horse wagon ride and pony ride. They also got to see a  lot of farm animals.

Easter Basket

Tonicci loves arts and crafts (or is it me?) so I decided that we should make an Easter Basket complete with Chicks to welcome Easter! I looked for ideas online and found one that's easy and cute at the same time. Armed with our list, Tonicci and I headed to our nearest dollar store and bought all our materials.

Tonicci had fun in the process of completing our basket and even said "thank you mommy for helping me." You're welcome, love!
our materials

we pieced together two yellow pom poms, used black pepper for the eyes, and red paper (should have been orange but we couldn't find any) for the beak

we placed the chicks inside an egg shell

we dipped the hard boiled eggs in dye

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Eart Hour 2012

Coming home from school one day, I found a flyer saying it would be Earth Hour on Saturday from 8:30-9:30 pm. Since we were going to be at Kuya Robin and Vanessa's house for a get together dinner, I asked Vanessa if we could celebrate Earth Hour at their house. Luckily, she agreed and had candles waiting for us when we got to their place. Tonicci had extra fun also because he was able to celebrate it with Dawn. Tonicci kept on saying to us that "Earth hour is important for Mother Earth". Indeed!

Basketball

For Spring, we decided it's about time we put Tonicci in sports classes so we decided to enroll him in basketball. His first choice was really ball hockey (second was soccer), but unfortunately the class was already full when I was trying to register him.

So far he only attended one session but from the looks of it, he is definitely enjoying himself! Good thing parents can watch from the sidelines to observe and take pictures.

I also noticed that he didn't have a hard time adjusting because their coach was super nice, friendly and patient. Let's see if this sport will grow on him :)
