Tonicci's birthday

It was a very simple celebration- he wanted to invite his best friend over. He went with his Daddy to the grocery to pick his cake.All he wanted was pepperoni pizza and pokemon cards. :) It takes so little to make this boy happy.

 

We love you so much sweetheart! Daddy, Mommy and Tinsley are so proud of who you are and how  you turned out to be. I love laughing with you because of our silly jokes. Dancing with you and Daddy in the living room like a bunch of crazy people, while Tinsley just staring at us mesmerized. Love it that I can get mad at you and 10 mins after we are kissing. I love our talks when I pick you up from the bus. I appreciate it when you help me with Tinsley like giving her the milk or looking after her when I am doing chores. We don't take for granted that every night  we get to read you a book, pray and tuck you in for the night. Most of all I love it when we kiss and hug and do it 100 times more.

Tonicci, we hope you will discover what is truly important in life. May you have lots of love to make you smile, peace and contentment to make you happy and to have a heart that has so much faith in God. Life is not perfect, everyday there will be ups and downs and we just pray that we raise you to become a strong boy. Please know that at the end of the day, your family is just here for you. Love you and happy 6th birthday!

He woke up at 6 am to get and open his present!

 

 

The basics

TV, Instagram, Facebook and other social media are such a delight but can be a bad thing when used excessively. I think quality time with the kids without us glued to the screen is a very good thing. Jet and I sometimes fall into this mistake as well where the TV is turned on while we're reading a book to Tinsley. Other times, she's playing beside us and we're looking at Instagram. I strongly believe that we have to be in the moment and that the kids deserve our full attention.

 

So after I snapped this photo of the kids, we returned to the basics of playing or reading, drawing, writing and just talking. After 30mins or so, Tonicci went running back to the TV! And Tinsley, oh sweet Tinsley is happy to have us all to herself.

 

 

LOVE

Our family, just like any other, goes through ups and downs. One thing is constant though- we LOVE hugs and kisses. It's a staple in our family. We do this so many times in a day, some people might not understand haha! That's just the way we are.

 

Sometimes when I am working in the kitchen and I feel like giving T a kiss, all I have to do is call him and he'll instantly come running and give me one and off he goes to do his own thing again. I trained him well haha! I wonder till when this will last?

Christmas Market

During the weekends, Tonicci gets to use his Ipad. Weekdays are for homework, some TV, playing with his toys or reading books.

 

One Sunday, I wanted to get out and get some fresh air. Tonicci's eyes were so glued to the Ipad, I couldn't stand it haha! As much as the boys wanted to just stay home, I convinced them that we should go to the Distillery district for the Christmas market.

 

We didn't get to stay out too long as it was so cold! T and his dad got to ride the ferris wheel though and he was quite happy with that. I, on the other hand was just too happy to see the beautiful Christmas tree and experience Distillery during the holidays.

Winter

It's a winter wonderland out there! Yes it's pretty to look at (sometimes) but it's terribly cold and it's no fun anymore!

 

This weather though does not prevent Tinsley and I from going to church to give thanks. Took these pictures of our neighborhood after hearing mass.

Card

I just have to put it out there how sweet Tonicci can be (when he's in the mood). I have to say though that his first grade teacher is really amazing!!

Christmas program

Tonicci performed with his Grade 1 class for the Christmas program at St. John's school. They sang 2 songs, Jingle Bell Rock and Must be Santa. Being an emotional mom, I was teary eyed and so proud of him! His dad, Tinsley and I enjoyed the program and we told him that. He said he was quite nervous at first because he didn't want to mess up! Oh sweetie! You are perfect in our eyes!
