Builder

Ever since he was 2, Tonicci has loved his Lego blocks. He really likes building all sorts of things. Whenever  a 'bad guy' character comes on TV, he would immediately run and build a shield or a 'shooting gun'. He also hates it when I tidy up his work. I cannot move it or break his creations apart unless he says so. Whenever I do, he would get so frustrated and throw a tantrum.

One day, he was intensely making something again and I thought it would be nice to capture the moment. We noticed that he is such a perfectionist! He cries every time a block falls, that's why we have to remind him to be patient.

Below, he is making a shed for his trains.

Superheroes

I don't know if it's his friend's influence, but Tonicci is beginning to grow his superhero collection. Is he going to bid goodbye to his Thomas and friends? Let's see...

Digital Play Space

Danica (Mayon's mom) invited Tonicci and I, together with a few other Mommies and their kids to Digital Play Space, where the children build their own robots, learn about animation and play in a virtual forest. It's about having fun while learning at the same time.

We spent almost three hours as the kids had so much fun exploring and playing the interactive games.

The Roomracers is a digital racetrack that has digital cars that drive around obstacles that children can make with everyday items. Anything from a spatula to a pillow could serve as obstacles for the cars.

Toronto International Film Festival

Toronto International Film Festival for kids is an annual  event that started last year. Since we felt that Tonicci can sit through a two hour movie (when he watches at home), we decided to take him to TIFF for the very first time. We watched Lotte and the Moonstone secret, a 72 minute animated movie.

Tonicci loved the film, but I still needed to explain some parts to him. After the movie, we went to the activity center for kids where there was a face painting booth, button making and a film making centre.

Film festivals like these are such a great venue for kids to explore and develop their creativity.

Coloring

After years of coaching him to color inside the line, he now finally gets it :) Not yet perfect but definitely better!

Games

This is it! Tonicci is officially addicted to online video games, particularly car racing :)
